What a difference a week makes.
Remember how excited I was that the cats were using their kitty kube? Score 1 for the momma cat and all that... Yeah, well. 
That's our Thor (the green cat). I suspect he did most of the damage. No proof, but it fits his M.O. Here's Pan (the blue cat) in the kube prior to the hell-cat(s) attack.
It appears that the bulk of the damage occurred while the cube was in its squished position. Exhibit A:
